Silver Jewellery course with Lisa…

The Brief

To teach Basic Jewellery Making Skills to a student called Ella Williams who is currently sitting her GCSEs. Ella’s brief was to produce a piece of jewellery using Eco-friendly methods from the initial design process to the end product.

Course Details

We covered the basic skills through demonstration, handouts and individual practice in two separate x3 hour sessions – course time: 6 hours.

Skills

Ella learned a range of skills including piercing, annealing, filing, texturing, shaping, doming and soldering. We used Ella’s designs to create two pieces of jewellery which she then was able to take home and wear. I was with Ella throughout the process.

Certificate

Ella received a certificate to show that she had completed the Basic Jewellery Making Skills course (pictured above).

Costs

• £25.00 – Hourly rate (6 hours / two separate x3 hour sessions)
• £40.00 – Materials
• £30.00 – Cast – This is the cost to produce a cast of Ella’s design so we can produce as many starfishes as we like in the future, for this job we ordered three casts of her original silver starfish.
• £30.00 – Silver to produce the three cast starfishes.
• Total Cost: £250.00
